“Catholic Church Found to Have Spent Over $2 Million Lobbying To Block Child Sex Laws” by John Vibes (Activist Post)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

In light of the growing pedophilia and sexual assault scandal rocking the Catholic Church, it is important to remember that not very long ago the organization was found paying off a lobbying firm to block bills related to sex crimes against children.

In 2015, the New York State Catholic Conference, contracted the lobbying groups, Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, Patricia Lynch & Associates, Hank Sheinkopf, and Mark Behan Communications to block a bill called the Child Victims Act, which was aimed at making it easier for victims of child sex crimes to come out against their accusers. The bill also sought to extend the statute of limitations for sex crimes, since many victims are too afraid to speak out until too much time has passed to prosecute.

Between 2007 and 2015, the Catholic church in New York only spent more than 2.1 million dollars lobbying on various bills, mostly related to sex offenses.

“Saudi-US Propaganda by PBS NewsHour in Houthi-held Yemen” by William Boardman (Dissident Voice)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

===== ==

One of the poorest countries in the Middle East, Yemen’s war has pushed it to the brink of famine. A Saudi blockade has slowed the flow of food and helped push prices up. Markets and businesses are ruined from airstrikes. Millions are destitute. Special correspondent Jane Ferguson smuggled herself across front lines to report on what’s happening inside the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.

— PBS NewsHour summary, July 2, 2018

This is what American tax-supported propaganda looks like when an organization like the PBS NewsHour wants to maintain a semblance of credibility while lying through its intimidated teeth. Yes, Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the world, long dependent on imported food and other life support. But to say “Yemen’s war” is major league deceit, and PBS surely knows the truth: that the war on Yemen is American-backed, initiated – illegally – in March 2015 by a Saudi-led coalition that includes the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The US/Saudi war is genocidal, creating famine and a cholera epidemic for military purposes. These are American and Arab war crimes that almost no one wants to acknowledge, much less confront.

The “Saudi blockade” is also a US Navy blockade. The blockade is a war crime. Starving civilians is a war crime.

The most amazing sentence is: “Markets and businesses are ruined from airstrikes.” Seems rather bland. But this is a tacit admission of more war crimes – Saudi bombing of civilian businesses, as well as civilian hospitals, weddings, and funerals. But PBS makes it sound like the airstrikes sort of come out of nowhere, like the rain. PBS omits the American culpability that makes the airstrikes possible: mid-air refueling, targeting support, intelligence sharing, and the rest. Think of Guernica, the fascist bombing of civilians that inspired Picasso’s painting. Now think of Guernica lasting three years. That’s what the US has supported in Yemen and that’s what PBS helps cover up.

“JPost Pulls ‘Explosive Report’ Confirming Israel Provided Weapons to Syrian Militants” by ? (21st Century Wire)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

David Brinn, managing editor of the Jerusalem Post, told RT the report titled ‘IDF confirms: Israel provided light-weapons to Syrian rebels’ was removed from at the request of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF):

“We were told by the army’s military censor to remove that part of the story”

The weapons arrangement was under the cover of the IDF’s “Operation Good Neighbor” program, portrayed as a humanitarian mission. Israel has been using these groups to keep Hezbollah away from the Golan Heights.

““The Magnitsky Act – Behind the Scenes” available on Vimeo” by ? (Off Guardian)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

The Magnitsky Act – Behind the Scenes from Piraya Film AS on Vimeo.

A 2 hour 32 min version of THE MAGNITSKY ACT – BEHIND THE SCENES had its world premiere at an invitation-only screening at Filmens Hus in Oslo, Norway, on June 25th, 2016. Since then, the film has been shown (and awarded) at several international film festivals. Personal copies have also been sent to hundreds of journalists, politicians and others who have expressed interest in the film, given the film’s high-profile political content.

However, more than two years after its world premiere, the film has not yet been released to the general public. It has not been broadcast on TV, nor been screened at cinemas, released on DVD or made available online. Many dissatisfied members of the audience have asked Piraya Film why they cannot see the film.

The answer is that an attack campaign was launched by the British financier Bill Browder (who appears in the film) against the film and the filmmakers while the film was still under production. This campaign was backed by, among others, individuals in the US State Department, CIA, various think tanks and human rights organizations, and included smear tactics in the press and in various other settings. The campaign succeeded in blocking planned screenings at the European Parliament and at a Norwegian film festival. The film was partly financed by several TV stations, and normal procedure for a documentary would be that these TV stations broadcast the film first. However, the involved TV stations were subject to both political and legal pressure, and have, until this date, not published the film.

One individual decided to leak his personal copy of the film to the internet in July 2018. We have worked hard to remove this from YouTube and various other sites, but we see that it is impossible to stop this illegal copy from spreading. With the film out like that, in an illegal manner and in breach of our copyright, we have decided to release THE MAGNITSKY ACT – BEHIND THE SCENES on Vimeo on Demand. We urge the public to support our work by seeing it here. With Browder as the main source of a disinformation campaign against the film and filmmakers, we have a need to counter the libel and defend ourselves through letting the public see the film.

Vimeo is too uptight about the possibility that folks might steal the movie, in my opinion. And they are hypocritical about it all. Interestingly, the documentary is no longer available on Vimeo, by the look of things. I would be very interested in seeing the documentary myself.

“Yemen’s media blackout” by Dan Glazebrook (Dan Glazebrook)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

Even by the depraved standards of the Western-backed, Saudi-led aggression against Yemen, the bombing of a school bus on 9 August was a new low. The bus had stopped at a market while taking the children back to school from a picnic when it was targeted, according to Save the Children. Yemeni health officials have informed the world that the strike killed 47 people with 77 more injured. Those numbers are likely to rise.

Most of the victims were less than 10 years old. Following the attack, Frank McManus, Yemen country director for the International Red Cross, whose workers treated the wounded, said: “Today should be the day the world wakes up to the atrocities going on in Yemen … a bus full of school children cannot be viewed as mere collateral damage. Even wars have rules, but rules without consequences mean nothing.”

“Ohio Prisoners Face Crackdown For Speaking Publicly About National Strike” by Brian Sonenstein (ShadowProof)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

Ohio prison officials revoked phone access for one year and suspended other privileges for an incarcerated activist, who spoke publicly in support of a nationwide prison protest scheduled to begin August 21.

Siddique Abdullah Hasan has advocated prisoner resistance for decades from death row at the Ohio State Penitentiary, where he has lived ever since a court ruled he was complicit in the death of a corrections officer during the 1993 Lucasville Uprising.

The severe disciplinary action he faces is illustrative of the absurd lengths to which prison officials will go to prevent prisoners from speaking about the upcoming strike. The incident also exposes how prison officials are adapting their efforts to preempt prisoner resistance through social media surveillance and targeted harassment…

The “long-timer” privileges Hasan lost were won through years of coordinated hunger strikes against restrictions placed on the so-called “leaders” of the 1993 Lucasville Uprising.

They included contact visits, more time out of cell, and recreation time with other “long-timers.” Now, he will only be allowed out of his cell for time in a concrete range or recreation cage for five hours per week.

The Lucasville Uprising began as a protest initiated by Muslims, who opposed a tuberculosis skin test that prison officials were planning involving a solution containing phenol, an intoxicant they are forbidden from putting into their bodies.

The protest turned into an uprising, which resulted in 21 demands that encompassed a wide range of abuses they suffered. In particular, officials refused to let Muslim prisoners take an alternative test and threatened to force the injections upon them.

“Soros Democrats Promise to Shut Down First Amendment” by Kurt Nimmo (Activist Post)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

Have you read the Soros plan to shut down the opposition?

It is posted at Scribd with the following description.

Full David Brock confidential memo on fighting Donald Trump obtained by the Washington Free Beacon at the Jan. 19-21, 2017, ‘Democracy Matters’ Florida donor retreat at Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, Fla.

Democracy Matters: Strategic Plan for Action lays out a plan to fight against the democratically elected president of the United States.

While the document centers on defeating Trump—either by impeachment or a Democrat presidential win in 2020—much of it is dedicated to finding ways to shut down “right-wing” media…

Media Matters encourages social media giants to “develop technologies to serve as an early warning system for fake news and inoculate social media platforms from exploitation and abuse.”

In short, find and destroy “fake news” on social media, an effort already in full swing at Twitter and Facebook.

The organization, funded by George Soros, works with Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook to hide or eliminate what the state labels “fake news.”

“Alternative Media under Attack: American Herald Tribune another Target on the List” by ? (American Herald Tribune)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

Alternative media is under attack. It seems that the US government and its allies do not find it suffice to control mainstream media, and is, in fact, desperate to shut down any alternative media that speaks the truth. Two weeks ago, the Gmail of the alternative media outlet, American Herald Tribune was shut down without prior notice. Google stopped serving ads on the website. Suddenly afterward the website’s Facebook page was shut down (not so surprising! Read the Washington Post op-ed by Mark Zuckerberg and it should remove any ambiguity).

As with similar cases for other alternative media, the American Herald Tribune team should expect to see their Twitter account down anytime soon. This is not the first case of online “aggression” towards alternative media outlets. Alternative media is under serious attack.

The American Herald Tribune may not be as high-profile – the Gmail of alt media – as the author claims, but that’s beside the point.

“Israeli Spying on Trump” by Philip Giraldi (American Herald Tribune)

An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:

It is ironic that the Robert Mueller investigation into possible collusion between the Russian government and the Donald Trump campaign continues to turn up nothing while the evidence of Israeli interference in the U.S. political system continues to surface without any outrage being expressed by either the media or American politicians.
