“Trump delivers right-wing tirade against socialism in State of the Union address” by Andre Damon (WSWS)
An excerpt from the above linked-to article follows:
US President Donald Trump delivered a right-wing tirade in his State of the Union address Tuesday evening, ranting against socialism and denouncing his political opponents.
Trump feels emboldened by the failure of the Democrats’ impeachment efforts, which are expected to conclude with a vote in the Senate for acquittal today. He utilized the occasion to redouble his attacks on socialism, escalate his attacks on immigrants, and present himself as the force responsible for a supposed revival of the American economy…
The real content of the “recovery” Trump boasted of was his declaration that “United States stock markets have soared 70 percent.”
Trump, following on Obama, has overseen a further massive redistribution of wealth from the working class to the rich, with trillions funnelled into the stock markets through corporate tax cuts and “quantitative easing” from the Federal Reserve.
The supposed rosy state of the economy, however, was belied by Trump’s attacks on socialism—that is mass opposition to social inequality and exploitation—which he presented as the gravest threat to the United States and the world.
My online response to the above linked-to article follows:
This is why Donald Trump is president, despite much of the elite in the US finding him to be not the kind of packaging they’d like for their police State. By railing against socialism, he signals to the members and supporters of the war-making State, who, in turn, are those thinking and acting the way the Corporatocracy requires, that the regime change pogrom underway is acceptable and should continue.
As the phony impeachment operation against Donald Trump wraps up – phony because they could have easily picked something that they could have used to impeach him, but chose not to – I’ve been pointing out to people (who don’t want to hear it) that the core of the impeachment effort centered around the idea that Trump bribed Volodymyr Zelensky with ‘aid’ to go after his political rival Joe Biden, and that idea doesn’t work. John Ratcliffe demolished that nonsense idea in a closed-door deposition of former ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor (https://www.libertybell.com… Those (mostly Conservatives I believe) who point that out make the point that “How is it wrong for the President of the United States to withhold military aid to a country that is using it against its own people who don’t want a military confrontation with their neighbor Russia?”
While that pause in military aid and weapons sales (I am still not sure which it was) was good for that reason, Was a desire for peace and the rule of law what motivated Trump? We can’t say it was when we see and hear him essentially urge on the regime change fanatics in his own government as he has done with the spectacle of this State of the Union address.

Hopefully, dear reader, you can view the above linked-to vid okay. I’m having trouble on Bitchute right now, with videos (on others’ channels) simply not playing. I’m sure that it’s Disqus which I constantly complain about and almost no one seems to care about. After a couple of vids wouldn’t play on Bitchute for me the last few days, appearing as black squares only, I asked in the comments section (Veritas) whether anyone else was having the same problem. I didn’t get a flood of replies, but one person said that he (or she) was having the same problem. I seem to get held up in some fashion in real time, because I notice that, whereas my avatar was always visible whether I published a comment or not, before, now it is missing until my comments appear.
